Patches that is.  You know the drill by now, it’s time to make sure your computer is set to pause patches and not get them installed tomorrow.  We do

      Make your backups now:

      • Sometimes defer, pause, hide may not function well.
      • Sometimes you click: Check for Updates.
      • Sometimes there are new unannounced update rules.
      • Sometimes updates are confusing.

      Everyday is backup day.

I just read my newslettter and was about to ask if you were also going to handle the MS-DEFCON for home users, since you’re usually more about the business users, covering individual patches.

So @sb which “hat(s)” are you going to put on?  In the past Woody pushed for normal users whereas you tended to look after business users (including the Master Patch List).

For example, in the Newsletter of October 26th you wrote: Windows 20H2 is in the pipeline — so it’s about time to install … its predecessor, Win10 2004.

And, in Computerworld November 9th you wrote:  I’m still a bit wishy-washy about the 2004 release because of some issues with passwords reported by users and I’m certainly not yet comfortable recommending 20H2. I am fully comfortable with the 1909 release.

I’d be even happier if you retired the militaristic and US-only “DefCon” system, and replaced it with something more informative and descriptive, and applicable to the entire world!

The usual beta testing here will continue today, but first, the regularly scheduled computer work chores and a backup. Show and tell on the beta test will follow this afternoon.
