I am on 1909 – and when I installed June 2020 patches as askwoody.com suggested – all of the my file associations were reset.  I suspect it has something to do with MS trying to force the new update of MS Edge down our throat – which I refuse to use.

It’s not a big to reset every file association when you try to open a file and you get a pop-up asking you set your default application.  Just frustrating.

I’m curious if this has happened to anyone else.

Yes, we’ve seen that before. It’s a pain.

Happened to me as well. I had just updated to 1909 from 1903 and applied the June update.

All file associations? Do any files open without intervention?

        cheers, Paul
