      New member here…very valuable site!

Win7Pro 64 x86 group “B”, set WU to “notify but ask before downloading”…had the good sense not to install KB4088875, but now KB4075211  February Preview is showing up unchecked in the “optional” category, and no monthly rollup at all.  Only other one showing KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool) and KB2952664 (Windows Update).

      1. Why is KB4075211 showing up at all (isn’t this the one that fouled up smartcards?)

      2. Heard something about KB2952664 being a telemetry snoop…true?

      3. No more “Monthly Rollups” for Win 7?

      4. Any recommendations on the above?  My head’s spinning.

Microsoft seems to be purposely blacklisting KB4088875 from appearing in Windows Update for some users. KB4075211 has the smart card issue but the issue first appeared in an earlier update. KB4091290 is a rollup that fixes the smart card issue. Oddly, you might have to hide KB4075211 in Windows Update, then check for updates again, in order to see KB4091290 listed in Windows Update.

      About KB2952664: Yes. See 2952664: Telemetry in Win7/8.1 – KB2952664, KB2977759, KB2976978, & KB3150513 for more info.

To prevent my head from spinning or banging it on my desk I never do any patching until Woody gives the A-OK on the Defcon level. Let the more technically inclined shake out the bugs.  Simpler and less frustration.
