        Heads up.

Earlier this week, KB4580325, 2020-10 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64 Based Systems installed on my laptop.  After the required reboot, my USB ports no longer worked.  Unfortunately, I had long ago disabled my laptop touchpad.  With much trial and error, I was able to navigate using the keyboard to restart the touchpad.  Uninstalling the update didn’t restore USB function but I eventually figured out that the USB drivers had been stopped.  Once I got them restarted in Device Manager, everything was fine.

The update installed again this morning and disabled my USB drivers again.  Restarting them worked again.

How did you restart the drivers?
They are normally loaded as part of Windows start up – unless you have fast start enabled, in which case drivers are not reloaded.

        cheers, Paul

Flash shouldn’t be touching driver code.  I’d look in the event log to see what’s going on.
