Hello,
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga, 3rd Gen, with Windows 10.1809 / 17763.805 installed 12/18/2018. There were updates from Intel installed on September 11 and Windows updates installed on October 4 and 9. At some point during these updates, my fingerprint reader stopped working. I looked for the driver and couldn’t find it in the Device Manager. Looking at the Boot configuration, everything looks normal and the Security devices are there and enabled. I’ve looked on the Lenovo site and searched online but so far no solutions are apparent.
I’d like to have the fingerprint reader functional again, advice welcomed.

This can happen if one of the drivers in the device chain gets unloaded.
Usually the fingerprint reader is internally connected through USB so those drivers need to be present too.
I’d try with the Lenovo Vantage application (it’s usually preloaded on Lenovo PCs) and see if it can update and/or force-reinstall drivers. That’s usually the easiest way.

anonymousHave you tried opening Device Manager, go to the top entry, right click and select “scan for hardware changes”?
