Stalking is nothing new. Stalking devices are used for years, but none can alert iPhone or Android users as the AirTag does.

About threading something through the edge of an Apple AirTag, multi-strand wire fishing leader would work quite well.

Yes. Every cell phone is a tracking device. Even the cheap burner phones. This is why I do not have a cell phone. Spend too many years creating those tracks for cell phone that now to afraid to use them. This was one of the main reason why batteries are not removal to prevent people from turn them off full. We did add small batteries to aid in tracking with phones with removal batteries in the past. I do sometime use a burner phone and get rid off it after 5 uses. More uses makes it easier to track you down.

It’s not a perfect solution, but for those who are concerned about tracking, here are the steps I would suggest

        1. Use a VPN
        2. Turn off location preferences
        3. Use a high quality Faraday Bag (see article below)

Nope, it’s to make them cheaper to manufacture and guarantee you will need to upgrade when the battery starts to fail.
Money first, conspiracy theory a very distant last!

        cheers, Paul

I did not understand how to detect an AirTag.

“Only iPhone owners would get a notification that an “AirTag Found Moving With You” on their screen”

iPhone will alert you automatically of tracking AirTags.
On Android you should run Apple’s app to scan for AirTags..
