On our Windows 2003 R2 server, I’ve started experiencing loss of connectivity from domain-member computers that can only be corrected by deleting and recreating the computer account in AD. Thus far, I haven’t found any good reason that this happens. If someone has an idea of where to start looking, please shout! The problem occurs randomly and without warning; a user can be at their workstation and suddenly their network shares become invalid. This seems to be concurrent with BackupExec not completing backup jobs and spitting out the tape overnight; if they’re truly related I’m not sure. Past experience tells me that when more than one strange issue crops up at the same time, they’re probably related.

Is Win2k3 SP-2 installed? What version of BE? Is BE backing up client PCs?

Service Pack 1 is installed. I was hoping to figure out the problem with BE prior to the installation of SP2 on the server – you know, just in case. wink

BE version is 10d. It is not backing up client PCs, only the server itself (which includes user data in a shared folder).
