Windows 10 is able to see the ‘Title’, ‘Contributing Artist’, “Album” details of my mp3 files but when I move them to my android phone, the ‘Title’ information is replaced with its filename and there is no ‘Contributing Artist’ field or anything specific to MP3 files

I’m copying mp3 audio of a book from my PC to my phone.  Each ‘Title’ helps me keep track of which chapter I’m on.  The filename is a jumble of  computer-generated numbers based on when it was translated to audio so it’s not as helpful.

I’ve tried running the program MP3Tag but it doesn’t detect my phone, even though my PC does.

    Anybody have any ideas?

You can’t see the details “on the phone” or “from Windows looking at the phone”?
The former should work, the latter not.

What audio app are you using on the phone?

      cheers, Paul

When I use Windows explorer on my PC.  I can see the ‘Title” on my PC files.  The moment I copy my files to my android phone, the ‘Title’ information gets replaced by the filename (without the extension).

On my phone, before I add an mp3 to my playlist, it shows just the filename.  After I add it to my playlist, it shows the correct ‘Title’ information.

That is exactly what we’d expect when you copy the file to your phone. In other words, you don’t have a problem. 🙂

      cheers, Paul
