Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |
Just wondering if there’s any kind of ‘master list’ for updates. Or do we have to search for each one individually? I see the Defcon ratings but don’t see any list of updates with ratings attached.
I’m new here but it seems like that’d be the most prominent item (a list) on this site.

It would appear you are asking for a documented list of all updates, for all WinOS, with details and ratings. Sorry, I don’t believe we have such a detailed resource.
However, for those on Win7 & Win8.1 Group B (manual) updating, see AKB2000003, which links the updates since the change in MS updating from late 2016, for each bitness, but without any ratings.
I just came up with a list that may be pertinent – but you ain’t gonna like it. Roughly 1400 changed KB articles this month.
Maintaining a lists of “good” patches — or even known problems with specific patches — would require a staff of at least a half-dozen. We’re all volunteers here….
