I was wondering if anyone knows how to set up message tracking to a specific domain to track both inbound and outbound messages to just that domain. I’m running Exchange server 5.5 SP3.1 on NT4 SP6a. I really don’t want to track all inbound and outbound messages, just to a specific domain. Thanks in advance.

I finally figured out how to do this. In Exchange Administrator, enable message tracking on the MTA and IMS, (and the IMC if you have it installed). In the properties box of the System Attendant mailbox, select “do not remove old log files.” Now open Exchange Administrator and open the message tracking center, (tools/message tracking). Cancel the first search window that opens then click on “advanced search.” Select “transferred to and from this site.” On the drop down menu transferred from, select Internet Mail Service. If I want to track all messages sent from mydomain to aol.com, then in the “From” box I enter @mydomain.com and in the “To” box I enter @aol.com then enter the number of days for which I have logs available (in c:exchsrvrtracking logs), then click “Find Now.” If I wanted to find the number of messages sent from aol.com to mydomain.com then I switch the address entries. Worked like a charm.
