I am running W2K Professional SP2 with IIS5.0. I have no
metabase.bin file on my system, and I have no backups in
the winntsystem32inetsrvmetaback folder or anywhere
else.
KB article Q234429 is of no help since it apparently
targets IIS4 found in the option pack of NT4 in spite of
its claim to address IIS5.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling IIS5 and that did not
help. I also tried uninstalling IE, but that didn’t work –
the uninstall process merely replaced IE with an earlier
version of IE.
Surely, there must be a way to recreate metabase.bin from
scratch – anyone know of a utility or any other approach
to this problem? Any suggestions would be welcome.
