Is Microsoft trying to force me to move to a Microsoft account? I run as a Windows user using a local account. And my computer is set to log me out after 60 minutes of inactivity. I also have an administrator hat but I don’t have this problem with that account. After the May 22H2 updates, I’ve found some disturbing behaviour.  After being logged out due to inactivity, when I try and login again using my account credentials the login fails. Then, very carefully, I login again. Fail again. The third time entering the exact same credentials, the login succeeds. I wonder how long before the message reads “We cannot log you in using your account. Please use your Microsoft account instead” ?

I have not seen this and I have several machines both 11 and 10 that log into local accounts.  I would review what security software you have installed?  It sounds like something is interacting with the log in?

I have Defender and my brain as my security, but I think I’ve found the problem. It looks like I have to say goodbye to my very expensive tactile click keyboard with the big keys that fit my big fingers. A couple of the numbers are intermittently failing to register and I basically have to hit them with a hammer. And yep, one of those numbers appears in my password.  A palm reader just told me tha a cheap Logitech for $19 is in my future. See? Now the letters are also starting to fail.
