Folks once again I have to just say that beware of these deals that are too good to be true.  Apple insider has a link to Windows software and it’s too cheap. And “free customer service – only the best support”.  You cannot offer free customer service on a $29 product and make money.

There is a PayPal payment option which is insured.

That doesn’t ensure these licenses are legit.  When the price is not near the manufacturer’s retail price, they are more than likely to be non legitimate keys.  They may still validate but they are at risk for someday not being valid.

Well, as about a minute ago, that price was still good for another seven days. So much for the implied “hurry, but it now” mentioned above. Now, in all fairness, I did visit the page about 15 minutes ago, and it said that the deal expired in 14 or 15 minutes. Here’s the page as of just a couple of minutes ago:

You realize that these are most likely volume licenses that were  sold by someone to these vendors.  Does this have Microsoft “seal of approval”.  The answer is no.  Will it work?  In most case yes.  However,  I have read of people who couldn’t make it work.  I have done it successfully twice and, in one case, had problems registering it.  BTW-  these can’t be moved to another machine.  Bottom line – these are in the “grey market” area.  The 2 I had were Office 2016 which is no longer being sold by Microsoft.  Thus Microsoft most likely wouldn’t care.  Office 2021 standalone, which I bought for my newest machine, is still being sold.  Enough said.

MSFT AI that routinely checks, not likely, just use an open source alternative instead. I dropped Office 2010 (full business suite, publisher etc..) back in 2014 or thereabouts never to go back, no matter how cheap.

        Win8.1/R2 Hybrid lives on..

Just out of curiosity, did you go with LibreOffice or OpenOffice or another open source suite?

IMHO, @sheldon ‘s post above offers a great explanation of a very likely reason that the price is so low; that they’ve extended it suggests to me that they haven’t had a lot of takers and instead have had folks listening to what @sb said above (both here and here) about it being too good to be true (i.e. they’ve had a bunch of looky loos, but hardly any buyers).

      Buyers reviews say otherwise.

It’s never a good idea to rely on reviews posted to the same site that’s selling a product you’re thinking of buying when the price is ridiculously lower that retail for the same item.

A quick google for reviews of those who’ve bought MS Office from Appleinsider.com reveals lots of complains of buyers being unable to active the product after purchase.

      As always, caveat emptor!
