Per the erstwhile Mary jo Foley, Microsoft has removed the compatibility block for Windows 10 2004. If you have one of these devices you may see the u

It is a sad state when a company doesn’t test and support its own hardware before releasing OS/Software.

Or to put the shoe on the other foot, it’s telling that MS isn’t confident enough in its latest version of Win10 to release it for their own hardware.

The delay was only for two or three of the 20 total Surface models.

Most Surface models had version 2004 available more than a month ago.

        UH-OH, woody!

Mary Jo Foley revised her article on July 5th with this statement:

Update (July 5): Despite Microsoft’s statement that the block was released on select Surface devices as of June 29, I still am not able to download Windows 10 2004 as of today, July 5, on my Surface Laptop 3. Other Surface users are reporting the same. I’ve asked Microsoft why the update is still not available, 120 hours after the stated release of the block. No word back so far.

so the 2004 upgrade block for some MS surface users is still there, despite MS saying that they have lifted the block

My Surface Pro 3 remains blocked.
