Just some general observations regarding Windows 10 and Windows 11:

      • Windows 10 and Windows 11 seem to have similar functions, although you may see those functions in different places on your computers.
      • Windows 10 and Windows 11 are cosmetically different — that is, they have different appearances.
      • Without substantiation, I suspect that Windows 10 and Windows 11 are very different structurally — that is, they are very different under the hood.

I love the clear and concise consumer recommendations:

      • Windows 11 22H2: Not recommended
      • Windows 11 21H2: If you have a Windows 11 PC, recommended
      • Windows 10 22H2: Not recommended
      • Windows 10 21H2: Recommended

There are so many current active versions of Win in play now that this helps tremendously.

I’m beginning to think you’re going to need separate DEFCON ratings for W10 and W11. Until now, fixes and problems have broadly affected both the same, but with this dribbling out of enhancements (or at least what MS thinks are enhancements) what is good for W10 may not be good for W11.

Personally, I’ll be inclined to regard this as MS making W11 permanently unstable.

I’m confused. On 10/25 we went to Defcon 4 go ahead ..now it’s Defcon 2 hold off on the same October updates. I only visit during patch time so I miss stuff. What am I missing?

      Thanks in advance

Once the updates have been classified DEFCON-4, they remain DEFCON-4. You can install them any time afterward. October updates have been/are approved for install.

The DEFCON-2 rating applies to any updates issued AFTER that date, i.e., the November updates.

So the Oct. updates that Susan has blessed are still good to go NOW.
