        Greetings all,

A question which I suspect everyone but me can answer…

I usually use FFox, but for various reasons have cracked open the new Edge, which I updated to current.

Interestingly, running it has invoked a HIPS notification setting (see pic) in my Vipre AV.

Obviously I can set to the AV to ignore these notifications, but are the events mentioned benign or is there an issue that needs to be addressed?

        Good health to all,

        John.

That’s benign, as it’s just Edge passing code to one of its components in its own sub-folder.

        Is Code Injection Bad?

This technique is used constantly by a wide variety of applications on Windows. It’s the only real way to accomplish a variety of tasks.

What is Code Injection on Windows?

Checking “Create a rule to allow it in the future” and clicking OK should mean you won’t see that warning again for a while.
