I found after ‘thanking’ the names of the thankers were gone.
Also note that there is a script present on the page.

I don’t have google tracking on the site.  You might try running Fiddler on your setup and it may help to narrow down what it is.  What is on the site now is what it needs to run.

Having examined the source of the page, it seems that AskWoody uses ajax.googleapis.com for fonts and google.com for CAPTCHAs – no tracking is running, as Susan says.

Just to add, I have had the exact same problem before with the thanks, as have others. It happened before after Susan made changes to the site.

I’ve not seen anything related to ‘Thanks’ that poses a problem unless it’s an intermittent bug.

There are also ‘automattic’ hidden content trackers solely associated with gravatar. These 22 trackers are hard coded that most mainstream tracking extensions ignore, due to being a functional pre-requisite of the site. Tis the nature of the wordpress/ forum beast which seem to be safe, albeit underhanded at T&C’s of the agreement of software use.

I remember one incident when my “Thanks” on other people’s comments disappeared, then showed up again later. I think Susan was already in charge of AskWoody.

The fact that my recollection of that event is less than crystal clear is either a symptom of my being so old, or an indication that this is a rare event, or both. Take your pick.
