The old pc was Win10 with Office 2016. When the new pc was installed I copied the PST-file to the same location on the new pc. All of the e-mails are there, but the contacts are gone. If the contacts are also stored in the PST, why do I not see them? Do I need to copy another file to the new pc? The address book can be seen, it is just empty. A small detail which may be of importance is that the new Win10 has not yet been activated.

Well, Outlook has multiple possible locations to store an address book so the another file is not impossible.

Also if you’d set a non-default address book folder in a .pst, the data may be there but not automatically used.

But, then there’s the address autocomplete cache that some people mistake for a contacts list… which it isn’t, and is stored differently. Also a bother to move if it isn’t a .nk2 file.

        See for that case.

Windows activation is not likely to be relevant.

Are you sure that Outlook is using the data file you copied? Check that by going to File | Account Settings | Account Settings and then the Data Files tab.
