    Running in Chrome browser.

Why don’t I get auto logged in when I come here?

Because you delete cookies for this site.

No, that setting is for sites that I might want to clear cookies from on exit.  As you can see, there are zero sites listed.

Sometimes, cookies are set by a site but those cookies go “stale” after a certain amount of time, i.e. they expire. If a browser tries using them after they’ve expired, the site they belong to won’t recognize them. Another way (I think) that cookies can be controlled is by being deleted by the browser once they expire.

So, it could be that the cookie/cookies that is/are being set by AskWoody has/have an expiration date, after which time it’s/they’re no longer any good.

Just taking an educated guess here, based upon prior experience elsewhere with the same issue.

I deleted all cookies, closed the browser.  Came back later, came back to this thread and DID get logged in.  Will see if this was one time luck or not.

I would recommend a password manager program.

I have the same issue after I update my browser because it is set to delete all cookies on close. If I don’t close the browser I remain logged on.

      cheers, Paul

I’m always logged in; however, once in a while — maybe every 2-3 weeks — I find that I’m logged out and have to log in again. I do close the browser and I don’t delete cookies on close. I figure that the reason I have to log in occasionally is due to something on the AskWoody side.

Deleting the “old” cookies seems to have repaired this issue so far.
