Does any body know why tmp files are created in the “OfficeShortcut Bar” directory? The file names are derived from my chosen toolbar names.
I have deleted these before now, but they get regenerated.

Same reason they’re created anywhere, you have the shortcut bar open and active. The tmp files are supposed to be deleted when you close an application, but any abnormal end to a session will leave the tmp files there and you’ll have to delete them yourself. If you rummage around on your hard drive, you may find a bunch of these critters left behind when a program crashed or through poor housekeeping on the part of an application.
