Office 2003 sp-3 has been released. See Bink.nu | More Office 2003 Family SP3 downloads for links to the various downloads. See Description of Office 2003 Service Pack 3 for more information about sp-3 from Microsoft.

Thanks, Joe – the download details show that the full file is nearly 118 MB! (Which rather backs up my theory that the size of Windows and Office updates makes broadband access almost compulsory nowadays…)

And that does not include OneNote, Visio, or Project.

          OneNote was another 35 megs.

Not to mention Visio at 50 MB, Project at 40 MB plus whatever the Project server, Office Communications server, Sharepoint Portal server, Windows Sharepoint services, Outlook Live, Word viewer, Excel viewer, and the multilingual packages are.

Has anyone tested it yet, to see what it breaks (if anything)?

I’ve got it installed on 10 machines at work with no issues.

Hmm…I installed it on two machines, and now AutoCorrect doesn’t work in Outlook (plain text composition). I’ve turned it off and back on; no change. Can anyone else confirm this? Googling/searching Microsoft hasn’t yielded any fruit.

              Welcome to Woody’s Lounge!

The newsgroup thread Outlook 2003 SP3 Autocorrect confirms the problem. As you can see there, the Outlook MVPs are aware of the problem; they will pass it on to Microsoft.

I can confirm that AutoCorrect does not work for both plain text & HTML when you do not use Word as the e-mail editor. If I use Word as the e-mail editor AutoCorrect works for both formats.

I installed it on Office 2003 Professional today and worked with each of the applications without problems.

I’ve read about quite a few issues with Access after applying SP3. I currently cannot attach any code to form controls without Access crashing, but I can’t be sure that’s SP3 related as I hadn’t done it since rebuilding this laptop. shrug I aso have Office 2007 installed so that may be related.

Thanks for the heads up – I use Access, but infrequently and in a fairly basic manner, so I may hold off for the moment.

It’s been offered to me at home as part of the standard Windows (or, more properly, Office) Update facility, so I’ve just let it apply. Lucky I have a 4 Mbps cable download link!

        That’s nothing – Visual Studio 2005 SP1 is 432MB! yikes
