I look after several machines, 2 with Win8.1 and 1 with Win7 SP1. All Group B (for now).

For various reasons, I have waited until now to install updates from December onwards. No problem with the 8.1, including the registry check. Thank you Mr Brian, SueW and others for clear ‘how to’ on that.

For Win 7 … after installing KB4074587 (took forever to configure), 4073578 and 4074736, I did the ‘check for updates’ as per usual.

In the Important field, up came:

    Security updates: KB2991693, KB2984976, 2984972.

Update: KB2952664 (this was a ‘no’ several times before, so presume it still is).

PKCano’s reply to a similar question about re-appearance of ‘old’ patches makes sense. But my question is… are the Security patches OK to be installed now?

Finally, many thanks to Woody and everyone on the team for the advice, encouragement and especially the patient explanations. My learning never stops! Also, as a longtime Windows Secrets subscriber, I’m so glad to see Susan Bradley here!

    Thanks again.
