I ran the PC Health Check to see if my PC is ready for the Windows11 upgrade. Although the health check says my processor is incompatible, it is on the list of approved processors on the Microsoft website. I have an Intel i7-7700K CPU at 4.20GHz running Windows10 Home 64-bit. When I click “More about supported CPUs,” the CPU is specifically listed as Win11 ready. Why is this happening?

Your CPU doesn’t support upgrading for Windows 10 to Windows 11.
i7-7700K isn’t on the list of Windows 11 supported CPUs.
For 7th gen CPU you need to download Windows 11 ISO and run clean install.

AskWoody LoungerWhen I click “More about supported CPUs,” the CPU is specifically listed as Win11 ready, as shown in the Word document I attached. It looks like Microsoft needs to update their website link since it does not bring up the same file as you got at the “Windows 11 supported CPUs” link. I thought it unusual that my link brought up a page titled “Windows-10-2004-Supported-Processors.”

Your attachments doesn’t show that the CPU is supported.
It shows that it isn’t supported. The second attachment with the green v means nothing. It just shows that the CPU has the minimum required cores and speed.
7th gen CPUs are not Windows 11 compatible apart from 2 7th gen Xeon CPUs a 1 Microsoft Surface laptop CPU.
7th gen CPUs lack some required buil-in security features. You can force install Windows 11 (I don’t know why you would) using registry hack published by Microsoft, by hacking Windows 10 ISO using Windows 11 install.esd…

AskWoody PlusAccording to Microsoft unsupported Windows 11 systems won’t get security updates (they do for now probably so enterprises will have time to check software compatibly on their current incompatible PCs).
