        It doesn’t happen all that often, but many programs gratuitously plant a shortcut on the “public desktop”.  It isn’t all that difficult to delete them but one thing I’ve done for a long time, just to make it easier, is set the permissions on the public desktop to give my account full access.. then I can just delete the shortcuts.  I’m not asking about my laziness in doing this to avoid the burden of having to give my admin password.

        BUT: _something_ keeps resetting the permissions on the public desktop.  I don’t recall this happening with win7, but it seems to happen on win10 .   Is this intended/expected behavior?  Does windows update [or maybe defender] change this.  I’m mostly just curious…
