      Further updates suggested as useful and minimal for most users:

      KB2670838 – Platform Update. This is Optional but becomes Important in the context of installing Internet Explorer 10/11 for which is a pre-requisite.

      Looks like I already have this.  Not sure why a download/info site would post this fairly old update.  This site is known for having up to date info regarding PC software.

      Since the Platform Update is dated either February or November 2013, depending on date format, it would be very surprising if you hadn’t already got it on Windows 7 !

      What site is suggesting that you install this update? If the site isn’t Windows Update, then never install updates which are not presented by Windows Update itself.
