While trying to update to win 2004 from wind 1909, my pc will just shut off. No warning or blue screen, just power off.  Then it will only power back on for several seconds and go off again.   I end up booting from a recovery disc. The update fails and I’m still on 1909. I have upgraded this same pc from xp > 7 > 1809 > 1909 with not a single problem.

After doing all kinds of scans and diagnostics and updates, I can only find one item that sticks out. I have the TAP-adapter V9  and the pci simple ethernet controller disabled.  I do not use either and havent in years. The pci says it doesnt have a driver at all. When I try to enable or update either one of these the computer shuts down.  Is the pci replaceable (plug n play on mobo?) Is it even possible that this is the problem?
