    23H2 win11 Pro current.
    Edition Windows 11 Pro
    Version 23H2
    Installed on ‎11/‎3/‎2023
    OS build 22631.2715
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22677.1000.0

After change to local logon (and disa copilot and remove edge but these came later).
Settings /system/power and battery says best performance while control panel power settings says balance.change one and nothing happens in the other.
Nothing apparent at all in Event viewer.
Unplug rj45 and all USB but no change.
It’s like the power settings aren’t doing anything any more.
display off = 1 min, sleep = 1 min, screen saver = mystify = 1 min, but laptop just sits there.
I can turn on lock screen (win + L) but then that just sits there.
Need to somehow reset windows power side of things.
I believe things worked fine before I changed to local login.

Hosed from the beginning. Went back 5 images to first one before mods I’ll deal with it tomorrow.

      After change to local logon.

Does your phrase “local logon” = “Local Acct”?

If so, it suggests you were using Win 11 signed in with a Microsoft Acct. and able to revert to a Local Acct.?  I hoping this is the case.

I had installed this particular win 11 a month ago with a MS login account.

I decided to revert to a local non-MS login account and did so by running netplwiz, adding a new local account, setting it to Admin, and booting to it.

What I also did was to delete some of the stuff in c/user/<old-id> manually. Do not do this, at least until you have your new local login fully set up. You may not want to remove it ever since some things in win MAY rely on it, and why take the chance.

In any case, I restored my terabyte image done just before I did anything on Sunday, and started anew: created a new local login, blocked copilot, removed Edge and done in about an hour, and most of that time was just setting up my new local  login so it had what I was using on the MS login. Blocking copilot and removing edge only takes a couple minutes.

This thread should be put to bed. If you have questions about anything in here, please start a new thread with a much more appropriate title. Thank you. I will not answer further to this thread.
