Susan Bradley Patch Lady
Susan and Woody and Co,
I have a small office.
All running windows 10 pro, all updated with latest updates.
The computers can all see each other, and I have one designated as the “server” from which ACT, QuickBooks and printers are installed directly.
The two printers are both from Samsung — ML2510, and CLP-510 and are hooked using USB to the server.
I can remote control the server and print from there with no problem.
However, I cannot print from any of the workstations. I have added the registry key, I have checked the updates, and Win32spl.dll is the same size and version?
Replacing the printers is not sensible at this time. I used to have Ethernet / LPR to USB print servers networked in, and several years ago shifted to the “shared” printer arrangement which has worked fine for a long time.
Should I go buy some new Ethernet /LPR to USB print servers and a Ethernet switch? (I am out of ports on the existing routers / switches.

Added note: I have removed and reinstalled the printer in the workstations several times. The printer adds as a network share \\ServerName\PrinterDetail without any problem…
I believe that I have also removed and restored the Printer instance on the Server as well.
Until I attempt to print — either a test page or a real thing. Then the program hangs with no error popup.
Any suggestions?
David
