My computer is not shutting down. That’s not the problem. My problem is my screen goes black. With a strange side issue. If I’m listening to an internet radio show using my Windows Media Player everything is fine. If windows player is not up and running, for any reason. My screen goes black a minute or two after I disconnect Media Player from the internet stream.

Manufacturer and the year that you put it into service?

How can you disconnect MP from the internet if MP is not running?

If your computer is not shutting down it suggests there is something very wrong and that may be causing the video problem.
Have you tried updating the video driver from the machine manufacturer’s site (not from Microsoft)?

      cheers, Paul
