search and replace *

I have a spread sheet with asterisks in a few cells. How can I use find and replace? Everytime I try to use the find and replace I believe it interprets my typing the asterisk as a wildcard. I tried “*” and it does not work. I also tried *** and ** and they do not work either.

Hi,
If you put a tilde (~) before the asterisk, then Excel will find the actual asterisk character rather than using a wildcard search (the same applies to question marks)
