    Win10 21H2

The search box on the left side of the task bar has stopped working.

I think this has happened after the last update.

The box is there.  If I mouse over it the cursor changes to the instrt bar, but if I click, nothing happens.  I cannot enter text.  When I click, focus changes, but otherwise it is dead.

    Anyone have a solution?

    Thanks

      Hi JGSING:

What is the edition (e.g., Home, Pro, etc.) and OS build number of your Win 10 v21H2 OS shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications? I used Windows Update to install the November 2022 Patch Tuesday updates released on 08-Nov-2022 (including the KB5019959 2022-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems) and currently have Win 10 Pro v21H2 Build 19044.2251 , and I haven’t noticed any change in behavior with the Search box on my taskbar.

If you haven’t already done so, I would suggest you run System File Checker (sfc /scannow) and the DISM command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth from an elevated command prompt with Administrator rights as instructed in the ghacks.net article Use DISM to Fix Issues SFC Can’t to see if those scans can find any issues with your current Windows system files. Make note of the exact message returned by these scans if they find any problems.
