Following Susan’s Patch List, I just tried to download KB5005633 for Win 7 Pro 64-bit from MS Update Catalog.

However, it won’t download on both Firefox and Chrome.

Firefox thinks the link to the msu file is to a non-secure HTTP address and won’t connect.

Chrome immediately closes the second window for the download without downloading it.

Is there a security issue that both browsers are sensing?

Are you able to download it?

    Thanks.

Wherever it’s coming from they’ve messed up the SSL and thus the browsers are freaking out. Let me see if I can find someone to fix this.

Susan – You are the GREATEST!!

        PKCano isn’t bad either.

(If you actually know someone at MS you can talk to, please ask him to call me to for my detailed views about MS Word.  I am a hard-working transactional lawyer with unusually GOOD skills in Word, and I really want to rant !!!!!!)

I kid you not tweeting (I know, I know) often gets it faster to a fix.  I can pass along your comments to some Office MVPs I know.

Susan – Please tell your Office MVPs I promise to behave, but as I am actually GOOD at Word – I am far better with Styles and Section Breaks than any other lawyer or any secretary – your Office MVPs would gain something from a good talk, maybe with screen-sharing.

As soon as you and they wish, I would be happy to send you my contact info in a private message.

            Please try !!!!!!!

I just tried to download it and it worked. Maybe fixed? I did do a Firefox update today to 78.15 ESR, but don’t know if that matters.

In Firefox (latest version) Settings, at the bottom of the Privacy & Security page:
If you choose “Don’t ensable HYYPS-Only Mode” (for the one download), you may be able to download the file.
I am using the “Strict” Privacy setting, with extensions AdBloc Plus, Disconnect, and NoScript.
I have had no problems downloading from MS or the Catalog (giving temporary permissions to MS in NoScript).

PKCano – thanks for suggestion.  As I had earlier downloaded the two Win 7 updates on a different machine, I pulled them in from that machine and installed on final last Win 7 PC.

Unfortunately, AnyDesk is now harassing me for a business license, and I am afraid I will lose it for checking on the family computers and doing these transfers, as happened with TeamViewer.  Please point me to any thread you know that discusses that issue.

One of our MVPs ( @Rick-Corbett) had the same problem with TeamViewer. Here’s his solution #2352445. You can check his other posts on the subject.

Also, use the “Search Forums” to search for info on “AnyDesk,” as there have been several threads on it’s use.
