• Setting Up New 2019 WSUS Server

I am setting up a new 2019 WSUS server. I have been using WSUS for several years, but now I want to add in our Windows 10 devices (Win7 was so much easier). I attached a screenshot showing some of the Win10 options. 1903 looks pretty straight forward since I just want things like cumulative updates and I don’t want drivers.

But we still have some 1803 and 1709 devices. Which box do I check for 1709 and 1803 so that I just get the cumulative updates, .NET updates, etc. but NOT driver updates?

What updates do I get if I check the plain “Windows 10” box?

    Thank you for your help!

“Windows 10” and “Windows 10, version 1903 and later” are the only checkmarks you need. The first option will cover al OSes from RTM to 1809. Also make sure to select the needed categories on the other tab on that window, selecting everything EXCEPT drivers, driver sets, definition upgrades and tools work fine for me. When I’ll get full .Net installations and stuff like Silverlight offered, I decline them, but I feel certain that I don’t miss anything that I may need…

Susan wrote a nice guide to avoid dual (patch) scan that still works if you’re using WSUS.
