I’ve got my sign-on screen and lock screen set to windows spotlight. The lock screen picture is ok, but my sign-on screen is so blurred it’s almost unrecognisable.
I tried setting the lock screen to a picture, again lock screen is ok but sign-on screen is blurred.
I’m currently running version 1903 (OS Build 18329.1), but this problem goes back through several Insider builds, I just haven’t got round to doing anything about it, but it’s beginning to annoy me now.
    Any ideas anyone?

Maybe this Winaero article can help, it concerns “Starting in Windows 10 “19H1″, the sign-in screen shows its background image with the blur effect applied. Many users are not happy with this change. Starting with Windows 10 build 18312, there is a new Group Policy option that you can use to get rid of the acrylic blur effect feature on the sign-in screen background image.” The article also lists a “Registry” change that can be made. Possibly this will help ?

Thanks Lars, the link proved useful.
Using Group Policy Editor proved the best solution, apparently MS thought it clever to apply an acrylic effect to the sign-on screen. The removal of transparency solution, while it works, also removes transparency effects elsewhere, so the Group solution is preferable.
      Now I have a clear sign-on screen.
