It’s taking a long time. Sure hope that it’s worth the wait. If MS doesn’t fix the “vanishing Updates settings” magic trick, it’ll speak volumes about

Günter Born has caught another bug in 1903 – this time with Sandy Bridge CPUs and Nvidia graphics cards throwing an error 43 in Device Manager.

Microsoft hasn’t fessed up to that one, either.

Wasn’t this fixed by Nvidia nearly four weeks ago?

This Hotfix driver addresses the following:
Code 43 error when installing driver 430.64 on Windows 10 May 2019 Update system with Intel Sandy Bridge CPU

      GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 430.97

yes, and that was strictly an Nvidia driver problem, not a Microsoft problem

Just to confirm: I have three updates for win10/1809 that are just the usual patch-tuesday updates and not the full-system “feature upgrade”. Am I correct that I should still be holding those three out? I worry that I might miss the ‘go ahead’ message from the patch lady and be left hanging.+

The MS-Defcon indicator is still at 2 so you shouldn’t miss anything.
Woody will publish an in-depth article as well as inform everyone here when the time is ‘safe’ to update.

you can add KB4509475 (build 14393.3056) for Win10 LTSB 2016 v1607 onto the list of 3rd CUs this month, abbodi86. just posted today 6/27 around 2:30pm local pacific time

still awaiting for the 2nd CU for LTSB 2015 (v1507) since the Event Viewer crash problems from the KB4503291 CU are not yet fixed for that version – may come later this evening or tomorrow 6/28

Looks like Born strikes again. First blaming Microsoft for something that wasn’t their problem and second not checking to see if the problem had already been been fixed.

It wasn’t actually Born who blamed Microsoft though, and his site included the fix in their article.

it turns out, Microsoft did not issue a permanent fix for the Event Viewer custom views problem for Win10 LTSB 2015 v1507. bummer 🙁

Only that version got one cumulative update in June 2019. ONLY ONE for 1507!

very disappointing that Microsoft wrote this in Microsoft support KB article 4503291 about the event viewer problem:
“We are working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in late June.”
AND did NOT post a permanent solution to the problem and the month of June ended (and did not update that article since June 13)

it makes them look bad now & feels like they “broke” their promise. what do you think woody & Susan? MS patched the event viewer problem in late June for Win7, 8.1 and many Win10 versions from 1607 to 1903 EXCEPT for v1507.
