Depends if you buy them right after they are released or if the product has been out a while. When I bought my Mac Mini it needed an update as the product had been out for a while. My iphone I bought when that version was first released and it needed an update for some initial bugs even though one wasn’t coded up yet.

I would dearly love to have my body’s firmware restored to version 24.5 or so, but alas, they don’t do downdates …

If only you have made an image backup / clone at 24.5 🙂
