I can kinda understand corporate users going with MS for their Office applications, but unless an individual user has very specific or esoteric needs, the free open-source alternatives are just as good, and have just as much functionality. And, they’re free

And did I mention how little they cost?

There are some who do not like the dated interface of the free alternatives.

Also, IF you pay for online storage you may be better off paying for Microsoft 365 as you get 1TB per user included in your subscription on top of the software you get. So, for the family edition you get up to 5 users for approximately $100 USD per year.

If you purchase through Amazon they regularly, especially around Christmas, have deals where you pay full price but also get a $50 Amazon gift certificate making it essentially half price. At $50 per year that’s a steal! I always watch in Dec for the sale and keep my subscription at least 1 year ahead of my current expiration date.
