Don’t you have central PC management so that won’t happen ?

I had everyone on slow channel and honestly didn’t realize that was a change that was coming even to the slow channel. You can only control what you are aware of is going to happen and I missed that one.

We were joking that Microsoft must be ensuring our brains stay active by moving the icons around the screen.

Nope. MS is doing busy work for their workers and focusing on GUI changes rather than security. Most of MS employees are not capable of security. This is why MS makes them do GUI changes. If MS had employees that could do security, the OS would be less of a security risk. Thanks to some of those GUI change, it is now easier to break into the OS with either remote or physical access to the computer.

The other dribble I haven’t seen is the “badging” or reminders to sign in with a local Microsoft account.

MS is doing that for easier spying and tracking of users. Plus it will allow more data gathering of users and selling the data when the Windows OS is in the cloud and released as Windows 12. These is the many reason they are doing that.

I have a question about Alex 5723’s posting.  I’m not familiar with “central PC  Management”, so I did a bit of a google search (both on the web and on this site), and I’m still not sure what is meant by this.  Could someone please provide a link to further reading about it and how it can be installed on one’s computer?

Likewise, I’m not familiar with Susan Bradley’s terminology “the slow channel”.  Again, I did a bit of a google search, and I’m still not sure what it means.  Could someone please explain what it means, and especially what it means to put everyone on “the slow channel”?

IMO it’s a shame that Microsoft has chosen not to ‘dribble’ easy and effective local network sharing between consumer devices.

IMO it’s been a struggle since Windows 7 and/or the demise of SMB1.

I guess it doesn’t suit Microsoft’s purposes when it has a product like OneDrive to promote.

I haven’t had any issues with local network sharing between my devices.  My NAS is readily available.

Remind me to do an article about network sharing.  It used to be much easier.  Now you have to often change permissions, ensure users are just so.  I’m not saying it’s impossible, just that it’s harder than it was.

Yup, I’ve given up getting my two W10 Pro systems to share BOTH ways. Getting a Linux box to talk to W7 was easier.
