In early 2022  I purchased the TurboTax -2021 Premier CD  and installed on my  new HP  laptop  running Windows 10 — same as I did in many previous years. I input  some preliminary income data and then in April printed my  request  for a filing extention.  Few months later  I upgraded to Win 11.  Then  when I  tried to run TT to do some serious work on my taxes, the program would not activate even  after carefully entering my license code several times;  it  showed only Error Code 630.  I called TT/Intuit  and the tech could not get my installed program to activate. He sent me a free TT download and together we were not able to activate that program either; the same error code 630 appeared.  In following days, this process was  repeated  with other TT techs, but none of them could get  a new  downloaded program to activate;  same error code always appeared.  Finally I had to settle for using a free version of  TT online, which was  a pain in the butt and  extremely unsatisfactory way to prepare my tax  return.

Question:   What  can  I do  to make my  TT-21 program actually activate?   And if it does activate,  will I be able  to download/retrieve  my  2021 data from  TT online?   If  I cannot accomplish that,  then  I will not purchase  TT-2022,  and  instead I  will need  to switch to  an  alternative  tax software.
