Just Removed Norton 360 from Win 10 Pro 22H2 19045.2965,  prior to reinstall of Norton with new extended license.

Up pops a message about One Drive (which I don’t use) and another from HP wanting to install something.

The HP window persisted all the time that Norton was installing – but has not reappeared following the re-boot with AV installed. Done a Norton ‘Smart Scan’ – nothing found!!

    V strange.

What specifically was the proposed HP installation package?

Did you get a snapshot of the popup(s)?

No screen shot and no indication what I was being asked to “Install”. It was so ‘out of the blue’, that I just let the window remain (there was also an icon with a spinning CD) on screen until I’d completed Norton install and scanned, to see if it was malware being dropped. I do have a HP C4380 MFD installed.

      Subsequent scan revealed nothing.

When you performed a scan of your antivirus software, were there any files quarantined or deleted?

I’m not quite sure what a “smart scan” entails. Run a full scan of your antivirus software to see if any files are quarantined or deleted.

Have you blocked pop-ups in your browser?

Have you run a program, such as BleachBit, to clean up your system?
