Does anybody know what this is? It keeps popping up on my desktop. Spam? Malware? Legit program? Thanks.

It is the list of updates available to you if you so choose to run them.  It’s part of Windows Update in Win 7.  As to why it “pops up”, I have no idea.  I have never had this happen on my Win 7 computer.

Being 20 something in the 70's was much more fun than being 70 something in the 20's.

Concerning kb4088875, Woody wrote on ComputerWorld about it.
No idea why this is popping up now??, is the cpu an older intel?
      Hardware/ Software/ configuration recent change?

I think your main problem is running an out of date OS for start my friend, that update is irrelevant with the date (back in 2018). I’d consider upgrading to a supported version of windows, as windows 7 has been out of support for a few years now and no longer receives critical security updates which keep your device safe.

      It does with some tweaks

Yikes! I just came back here to see if there are any responses and I was shocked to see my original message. I have no idea what happened but that popup isn’t mine! Not even close. (My system is a properly updated Windows 11.) Hopefully the image I embed in this message will be the correct one!

[Moderator edit] You encountered the “another user used that specific attachment name in a previous post” problem. I moved the corrected image up to your initial post.

It appears that you have a fake popup. Run a full scan of your anti-virus program. Download and run a second reliable anti-virus program or run a reliable online anti-virus scan. report your results here.

Norton scans run regularly and haven’t reported anything. This is from a Malwarebytes scan I just ran (I did quarantine these files):

Yup. As a reader I see no image and have no clue what popup they’re talking about, so cannot offer any suggestions. It looks like somebody got to see something at some point, such that they can comment on it?

I saw the original image when it was first posted – not logged on to AW.
Was there yesterday, 13 May; perhaps before the Moderator Edit was done?

By the way I do use Edge but it’s up to date.

Check push notifications in your browsers. Been seeing a lot of this type stuff lately, although not that particular popup. I usually delete all the allowed sites and turn off depending on the client’s desires.
