Unusual update to win10 21H2

I installed win10 21H2 today by adjusting the group edit to show the desired 21H2 download. Had a problem with the download which may have been caused by not noticing that I did not check the “next version” in the boxes on the top. It was not until the download was complete that I realized the 21H1 (KB5008212) was loaded. However, winver showed the download was 21H2 (OS build 19044, 1415)??

I checked win update again and there was another download shown for 21H2, KB 4023057. I downloaded KB 4023057 (a service update I believe) and now the version number does seem correct although the KB that matches 21H2 in the master list is KB 5003791 (Dec 14, 2021)??

After this rather unusual update process I am a little concerned about the quality of the update, although the computer seems to be working normally. I wonder if it would be prudent to take Susan’s suggestion in Askwoody Issue 18.50.1 and go and get the Windows 10 ISO and overwrite the stuff I did today. Any comments would be appreciated.

Have you checked Windows Update – update history – uninstall updates to see if kb5003791 21H1 to 21H2 has been installed ?
19044.1415 is 21H2 Pro.

I just checked and there is no record.  I wonder in win update is smart enough to recognize that a new update is the same as an old one? Could it be the same?

The 21H1 > 21H2 update will be listed in the “Microsoft Windows” section of “Installed updates” as Feature Update to Windows 10 21H2 via Enablement Package (KB5003791)

The KB4023057 update doesn’t show up under “Installed updates” but in”Settings > Apps > Apps & features” (or “Control Panel > Programs and Features“) as Microsoft Update Health Tools
