Another update and again my “Save as” box is sorted by how old the posts are (1 day ago/week ago/month ago, etc). Last time this happened, I saved the directions for how to change things back, but is there a way to force Windows to always use my choice (alphabetical), no matter what the update wants?

It seems the “group by” attribute is saved per folder in the registry and setting it manually is a bit of a nightmare – see this discussion.

You could work out which setting it is and use a scheduled task to reset it regularly, or you could do it manually when it changes.

        cheers, Paul

I thought that was going to be the answer. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
