Although I strongly object to the update policy MS has foisted on us in Win10, so far none of the forced updates have caused problems on my system. But now I see that there’s a new Intel graphics adapter update. I belong to the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” school and I don’t want to mess with graphics that are currently working fine.

So the question: Has anybody found a way to select, hide or delay a specific update in Win10?

Unfortunately with win 10, you are at their mercy. I also got an Intel HD graphics driver update and all went well for me, I would think it will for you also.
If you are on win 10 Pro or above, you can “defer” updates but it is still just a matter of time.

Rather brilliantly (not), it seems Ms have woken up to the fact that some updates are damaging – their solution is to allow you to disable an update, but only after you have installed it once. The(ir) idea is that if you find it messes things up, you can remove it, and mark it not to return – which is fine as long as the system is still bootable and allows you to access the uninstall option. AIUI, you can’t stop the first install, and at best can delay it (if you are a business user). The idea is that we Insiders weed out the really bad updates for you all, then home users mop up what remains (and deal with the associated grief), so that business users have a relatively smooth ride.

You can still decline driver updates at System, Advanced, Hardware, Device installation Settings, Never install driver software from Windows Update:

How to Change Device Installation Settings in Windows 10

The “Show or hide updates” troubleshooter (after install/uninstall) is a download at How to temporarily prevent a Windows or driver update from reinstalling in Windows 10

Settings, Update & security, Advanced options, Defer upgrades only delays new features by a few months: Defer upgrades in Windows 10
