• upgrading PC LAN to 10GbE

We’re doing some planning now in anticipation of upgrading our LAN to 10GbE.

    Latest steps purchased 2 x TP-Link TX401 10GbE PCIe adapters.

Both installed EZ in Windows 10 workstations, but failed to install the supplied device driver in a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 PC.

Oddly, a StarTech ST10GSPEXNB did install OK in the latter Win7 PC, after we disabled signature enforcement temporarily, using “Method 1” described here:

But, “Method 1” did NOT work for the TP-Link TX401.

I’ve emailed a technical support request to TP-Link bc their TX401 product specs clearly state compatibility with Windows 7 (x32 and x64).

I’ll update this topic if/when I hear from them.
