Hi All
Would just like to get feedback and thoughts and whether my idea will work.
Currently I am running Office 2013 Home & Business C2R, which has been exellent over the preceding years but as we know this comes to end of life April next year. As such I am looking to move to Office 2021 Home & Business but at the same time I wish to change one of my pop3 email accounts (I have 3) to MS Exchange Online, so making it an ost account, it alos means all my contacts and calneder will automatically synchronise with my phone.
My plan is to purchase Office 2021 H&B and also subscribe to Micorsoft 365 Business Basic as this will give me the 3 main items I require Exchange, Onedrive and Outlook. I know that Microsoft say you shouldn’t run two different office programs on the same PC but with Basic all programs are Web and Mobile based so I wouldn’t be loading anyhting else on to my PC other than Offcie 2021.
I know that I could subsribe to MS365 Business Standard which would be give me Desktop, Web and mobile applications but for the following reasons I don’t wish to
1 – I am not ready to do full subscription to Microsoft
2 – More importantly I like consistency in the office applications I use on my PC and do not wish to be at the mercy and whim of someone in Microsoft adding or changing something just because they think it’s a good idea and having to re-learn the App all over again
3 – Based on the end of life of Office 2021 its actually more cost effective for me to purchase Office 2021 H&B + 365 Basic than it is to subscribe to 365 Standard for the same period.
So is there any reason why Office 2021 + 365 Business Basic shouldn’t work. I don’t see any reason why not since other than Office 2021 I am not loading any other office program on my PC?
