Which on-line system security software tests do sysadmins like these days? Gibson Research doesn’t seem to be have been updated. Dank je.

what are you expecting the online security software to do? What sort of testing?

I’d like straightforward, software-driven testing from outside my home network (outside its firewalls) to periodically check and see if shields are broken or down. I’m looking for a good software with a no-brainer GUI.

Try this site for online testing. It showcases what a browser allows-or not.

Results are loaded with way more information than most people will ever need.

I use it to test a security add-on/plug-in for a browser. Works for Windows or Mac.

Thanks for the BrowserAudit page. I tried and enjoyed it. Methinks I’m also wanting an out-of-network site which can probe for holes in my gateway router.

            Routersecurity.org

UPnP Testers section (mid page) has the router test link.
There are enough testing links for various things on this site to keep a person busy for a while. Lots of information on this site. I can’t say how old/recent it’s content is, I haven’t reviewed it.

The web site is by Michael Horowitz the computer person, not the IG 🙂 You may have heard of him.
