Building devices by SCCM task sequence to 21H1 is occasionally (about a quarter of the time) resulting in a crash on the final restart after the task sequence has completed – helpfully meaning the smsts log is no longer writing… The machine hangs on the ‘Just a moment’ screen for upto 20 minutes then restarts to the “Why did my PC restart?” screen. All seems well if I click next and let the machine start up but it’s obviously not ideal…

Anyone else encountered this issue or have any bright ideas?

I initially thought it could be the update KB5005716 (we use Pro not Enterprise) which I found was trying to install around the time of the crash. But I’ve injected that into the image and still seeing the issue.

    Thanks
