Windows 10 October update disables Internet Explorer 11
I have a need to use Internet Explorer 11 – not Edge in Internet Explorer mode – with Windows 10 occasionally.
Unfortunately, after installing the October cumulative update (5031356), Internet Explorer will no longer launch.
I have Edge “blocked”, using EdgeBlock, because I use and prefer Firefox.
When I attempt to open Internet Explorer it looks like it’s trying to launch Edge, but fails because Edge is blocked.
That’s fine, because I don’t want to use Edge.
But I do want to use Internet Explorer 11 from time to time, so does anyone have a method for circumventing whatever is blocking it?
