The attached popup just showed up in the past week or so. I’ve been running Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601.24544) since  9/10/2014 so I know the software is genuine.

This popup may results from WatAdminSvc.exe but why now after 8 years?

Has any one else seen this?

      I saw such a pop-up on Windows 7 about a month ago.
      It went after cold boot.
It seems to be Microsoft’s authentication glitch.

I have had this removed for years on two windows 7 devices without a glitch or activation issue.

I’m following item # 3. Do not install or uninstall KB971033 and do not hide it. Download and install manually KB3177467. This is a perfectly functional option, but require a little bit more attention with Windows Update.

Windows 7 all OEM licenses they are now equal to blacklisted.

Microsoft welcomes now only RETAIL licenses.

Do you have some evidence for that statement? My understanding is that you may still upgrade to Windows 10 operating system from a Windows 7 operating system (including one with an OEM license). This process will create a retail Windows 10 operating system license.

In any event, Windows 7 operating system should continue to work–OEM or retail.

Have you confused license type with Home or Pro versions? Both Home and Pro continue to work also.

I upgraded a Win7 Ultimate to Win10 Pro just before the Jan updates came out. Didn’t have any problems with that.
